Milan Nestarec

COUNTRY: CZECH REPUBLIC REGION: MORAVIA

Milan Nestarec has quickly become the star winemaker of the Czech Republic at a young age. Winemaker born and raised, Milan Nestarec’s father began commercial winemaking after Milan was born and the Velvet Revolution in 1989 when the land was again privatized. The family site started with Blaufrankisch but was destroyed by the frost. The next year, the coop replanted the site with Pinot Gris, Gruner Veltliner, and some table varieties. It is ironic that the unfortunate communist-era shortage gave birth to a field blend that all winemakers are after at the moment.

Milan Nestarec is not a winery. They are ideas that just happened to be represented through wine. Milan is not just selling wine but serving a world view, using wine as a medium.
